Valentin Magyar começou a tocar piano com cinco anos de idade, em sua cidade natal, Balassagyarmat, no norte da Hungria e com 14 anos foi admitido na prestigiosa Franz Liszt Academy, em Budapeste. Atualmente, faz seu mestrado na Franz Liszt Academy, com Dénes Várjon e Gábor Farkas e na Hanns Eisler Music Academy – Berlim, com Kirill Gerstein. Foi o terceiro prêmio no 10th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition, em Weimar-Bayreuth. Em 2020, venceu o Yamaha Scholarship – Yamaha Instrumental Competition e recebeu o primeiro prêmio no concurso online organizado pelo HCC New York. Em 2021, venceu o Prêmio Junior Prima, e em 2022, o Prêmio Zoltán Kocsis, nas categorias solo e música de câmara. Em 2023, ganhou medalha de ouro no Vienna International Music Competition, recebeu o Prêmio de Talentos György Cziffra e bolsa de estudos na Clavarte Foundation, em Berlim. Vêm tocando regularmente na Hungria e em séries de concertos e festivais por todo o mundo. Seu primeiro disco traz Rachmaninoff e será lançado pelo selo Hungaroton no final deste ano. Atua também com música de câmara e trabalhou com nomes como Kristóf Baráti, Boris Berman, Jacques Rouvier, Christoph Poppen e Claudio Martinez-Mehner.

Valentin Magyar started playing the piano when he was five years old, in his hometown Balassagyarmat, in Northern Hungary, and at the age of 14, he was admitted to the prestigious Franz Liszt Academy, in Budapest. He is currently doing his master’s degree at Franz Liszt Academy, with Dénes Várjon e Gábor Farkas, and at Hanns Eisler Music Academy – Berlin, with Kirill Gerstein. He was awarded the third prize at the 10th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition, in Weimar-Bayreuth. In 2020, he received the Yamaha Scholarship – Yamaha Instrumental Competition and received the first prize in the online contest organized by HCC New York. In 2021, he won the Junior Prima Award. In 2022, he won the Zoltán Kocsis award, in the solo and chamber music categories. In 2023, he won the gold medal at the Vienna International Music Competition; he received the György Cziffra Talent Award and a scholarship at Clavarte Foundation, in Berlin. He has been playing regularly in Hungary and in a series of concerts and festivals around the world. His first record brings Rachmaninoff and it will be released by the label Hungaroton at the end of this year. He also works with Chamber Music and has worked with names such as Kristóf Baráti, Boris Berman, Jacques Rouvier, Christoph Poppen and Claudio Martinez-Mehner.
