O Salzburg Piano Trio foi fundado em 1984 pelo violinista brasileiro-dinamarquês Lavard Skou Larsen e pelo violoncelista alemão-israelense Ramon Jaffé, nascido em Riga, na Letônia. O trio iniciou com a participação do pianista italiano Nicola Frisardi e posteriormente com o pianista alemão Andreas Frölich. Há alguns anos, o grupo passa a tocar com a aclamada pianista israelense Revital Chachamoff, o que resultou em uma colaboração muito homogênea e bem-sucedida. Sandor Végh teve um grande impacto no ensemble como conselheiro musical, resultando na conquista do prêmio no concurso de música de câmara Sergio Lorenzi em Triest. Desde então o Salzburg Piano Trio se apresentou em importantes festivais e salas de concerto como o Schleswig Holstein Festival na Alemanha, o Open Chamber Music Prussia Cove na Inglaterra, no Wigmore-hall em Londres, o Mozart Festival de Rovereto na Itália, o Salzburger Kulturtage na Áustria entre outros. As turnês levaram o trio a quase todos os países da Europa; a Israel e ao Centro-Norte e América do Sul. Entre as gravações do Salzburg Piano Trio, pode-se apontar a primeira gravação de estreia mundial do Pianotrio de Enrique Granados e do Pianotrio chamado „Adii“ do compositor italiano Luca Lombardi.

The Salzburg Piano Trio was founded in 1984 by Brazilian-Danish violinist Lavard Skou Larsen and by German-Israeli cellist Ramon Jaffé, born in Riga, Latvia. The trio began with the participation of Italian pianist Nicola Frisardi and afterwards with German pianist Andreas Frölich. A few years ago, the group began playing with acclaimed Israeli pianist Revital Chachamoff, what resulted in a very homogeneous and successful collaboration. Sandor Végh had a great impact on the ensemble as a musical advisor, resulting in winning the award at the Sergio Lorenzi Contest of Chamber Music in Triest. Since then, the Salzburg Piano Trio has performed at important festivals and concert rooms such as Schleswig Holstein Festival Germany, the Open Chamber Music Prussia Cove in England, at Wigmore-hall in London, the Mozart Festival of Rovereto in Italy, the Salzburger Kulturtage in Austria, among others. The tours took the trio to almost every country in Europe; to Israel and to the Central-North and South America. Among the recordings of the Salzburg Piano Trio, one can point to the recording of the Pianotrio’s first world premiere recording, of Enrique Granado, and one called “Adii”, by Italian composer Luca Lombardi.
