Começou a estudar aos seis anos de idade e aos dezoito anos foi para o Montgomery College, em Washington D.C., onde estreou no musical Evita e na Montgomery College Big Band. É mestre em música pela UFRJ. De volta ao Brasil, tocou com a Rio Jazz Orchestra e com Robertinho Silva, Adriano Giffoni, Bruce Henry, Ronaldo Diamante, Daniel Garcia, grupo Azymuth, Barrosinho e Roberto Menescal. Em 1999 produziu e gravou o CD de sua banda, Solari Jazz. Em 2001 se apresentou no Festival de Búzios com Stanley Jordan. Em 2002, tocou e fez a direção musical do espetáculo Ana in Concert, com a bailarina Ana Botafogo e em 2004 tocou no DVD Bibi canta Piaf com a cantora Bibi Ferreira e a Orquestra Petrobrás Sinfônica. Gravou em 2009 o primeiro CD de seu quarteto Tutti e em 2010 também o seu primeiro CD solo, A Tempo. Esteve na curadoria da Sala Municipal Baden Powell de 2009 a 2011 e em 2012 lançou um CD inteiramente dedicado à Astor Piazzolla com seu grupo Corda. Atualmente se apresenta com a Baixada Jazz Big Band, entre muitos outros grupos dos quais faz parte, além de ser maestrina em 4 corais pop no Rio de Janeiro e escrever arranjos para a Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira. Em 2019 lançou com a cantora estoniana Pille-Rite Rei o álbum Brazilian Adventures e acaba de gravar o CD AMF Trio com Augusto Mattoso e André Froes. Ana Azevedo estará acompanhada por Lipe Portinho ao contrabaixo e André Fróes na bateria.

She started studying at 6 years old, and when she was 18, she went to Montgomery College, in Washington D.C, where she starred in the musical Evita and was part of the Montgomery College Big Band. She has a master’s degree in Music from UFRJ. Back in Brazil, she played with the Rio Jazz Orchestra and with Robertinho Silva, Adriano Giffoni, Bruce Henry, Ronaldo Diamante, Daniel Garcia, grupo Azymuth, Barrosinho and Roberto Menescal. In 1999, she produced and recorded the CD of her Band, Solari Jazz. In 2001 she performed at the Festival de Búzios with Stanley Jordan. In 2002 she played and was the musical director of the spectacle Ana in Concert, with dancer Ana Botafogo and in 2004, she played in the DVD Bibi canta Piaf with singer Bibi Ferreira and Orquestra Petrobrás Sinfônica. In 2009, she recorded the first CD of her quartet Tutti and in 2010, she also recorded her first solo CD, A Tempo. She was part of the curatorship of the Municipal Room Baden Powell from 2009 to 2011 and in 2012, she released a CD dedicated entirely to Astor Piazzolla with her group, Corda. She currently performs with Baixada Jazz Big Band, among many other groups, in addition to conducting four pop choirs in Rio de Janeiro and writing arrangements for the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra. In 2019, she released, alongside Estonian singer Pille-Ritte Rei, the album Brazilian Adventures and has just recorded the CD AMF Trio with Augusto Mattoso and André Froes. Ana Azevedo will be accompanied by Lipe Portinho on double bass and André Froes on Drums.
