O projeto MultiPiano foi lançado em 2011 pela Escola de Música Buchmann–Mehta, uma instituição conjunta da Universidade de Tel Aviv e da Orquestra Filarmônica de Israel. O conjunto já se apresentou em quatro continentes, do Beijing Concert Hall e do Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires ao Merkin Concert Hall de Nova York, em Londres, Berlim, Frankfurt, Tel Aviv, Riga e Tallinn, colaborando com orquestras, como a Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSB), English Chamber Orchestra, Mozarteum Argentino, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra entre outros. Apresentou-se nos festivais de música de Taipei, Xiamen, Ottawa, Baltic Sea, Hualien, Tel Aviv e Jerusalém, bem como em redes de televisão e rádio em todo o mundo. Em 2015, o MultiPiano recebeu o prêmio do Ministério da Cultura de Israel de “Melhor Conjunto de Câmara Israelense”.
O grupo lançou pela Hyperion Records – “Mozart: The complete MultiPiano concertos” (2021), com a English Chamber Orchestra e pela Naxos (2022), com a Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, obras de Shostakovich, Martin e Levanon e Poulenc. O conjunto fez extensas turnês pela América do Norte, Extremo Oriente, América do Sul e Europa.
Apresentou o recém-descoberto Duo concertante de Mendelssohn, Variações sobre a “Preciosa” de Weber para dois pianos e orquestra WoO25 (1833) com a Orquestra Sinfônica de Israel, a versão orquestral do Rondo de Chopin em Dó maior, Op. 73 com a Orquestra Sinfônica de Jerusalém, a estreia da Petite Symphonie Concertante de Frank Martin para três pianos e duas orquestras de cordas com a Israel Camerata Jerusalém, bem como encomendas dos compositores Aryeh Levanon e Oded Zehavi. Em 2018, o conjunto apresentou uma nova versão de The Planets de Holst para piano e conjunto de percussão, no Merkin Concert Hall em Nova York. Em 2022, o conjunto colaborou com a Orquestra Sinfônica da Rádio de Berlim na gravação de obras de Mendelssohn, Schubert-Liszt e Moscheles. O quarteto é formado pelo seu mentor Tomer Lev, Berenika Glixman, Nimrod Haftel-Meirie e Lior Lifshitz.

Launched in 2011 by the Buchmann–Mehta School of Music — a joint institution of Tel Aviv University and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra — the MultiPiano project has performed across four continents. From the Beijing Concert Hall and Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires to Merkin Concert Hall in New York, as well as in London, Berlin, Frankfurt, Tel Aviv, Riga, and Tallinn, the ensemble has collaborated with renowned orchestras such as the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSB), English Chamber Orchestra, Mozarteum Argentino, and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.
The group has also appeared at major music festivals in Taipei, Xiamen, Ottawa, the Baltic Sea region, Hualien, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem, as well as on television and radio networks worldwide. In 2015, MultiPiano was awarded the Israeli Ministry of Culture’s prize for “Best Israeli Chamber Ensemble.”
MultiPiano has released albums with prestigious labels such as Hyperion Records — “Mozart: The Complete MultiPiano Concertos” (2021), recorded with the English Chamber Orchestra — and Naxos (2022), featuring works by Shostakovich, Martin, Levanon, and Poulenc, in collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. The ensemble has toured extensively throughout North America, the Far East, South America, and Europe.
Notable performances include the recently rediscovered Duo Concertante by Mendelssohn, Weber’s Variations on “Preciosa” for two pianos and orchestra, WoO 25 (1833) with the Israel Symphony Orchestra, the orchestral version of Chopin’s Rondo in C major, Op. 73 with the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, and the premiere of Frank Martin’s Petite Symphonie Concertante for three pianos and two string orchestras with the Israel Camerata Jerusalem. The ensemble also premiered commissioned works by Israeli composers Aryeh Levanon and Oded Zehavi.
In 2018, they presented a new arrangement of Holst’s The Planets for piano and percussion ensemble at Merkin Concert Hall in New York. In 2022, MultiPiano collaborated with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra to record works by Mendelssohn, Schubert–Liszt, and Moscheles.
The quartet is composed of its mentor Tomer Lev, along with pianists Berenika Glixman, Nimrod Haftel-Meirie, and Lior Lifshitz.
